       still trying to understand #ATproto...(please correct me)when #bluesky says the #ICE account is verified, they are talking about their app view. that's where the company lives. it's what can block an account (PDS basically?) for illegal activity. everything can be decentralized but the company will live or die based on how popular their app view is. running one well will be costly. access to it is what they somehow need to monetize. but that popularity will give them power to abuse users.

       @wjmaggos The AT Protocol is – as far as I know – only in control of Bluesky Corp. And the situation of the decentralisation of the AT Protocol is also much more worse than here in the Fediverse.Many people on the AT Protocol do in fact outsource the hosting of their data to Bluesky Corp and the authoritative relay for BSky is the one hosted by Bluesky Corp.
