Do you remember a few years ago now, there was a little bit of a trend of people going back to 'dumb phones.'? Is that even possible nowadays? There's quite a lot of things you need a smartphone for. Some online payments, signing up to stuff, healthcare providers, work-related apps (security, logins, shift apps etc etc) etcIs there any going back from this?I mean on a significant scale, for most of the population.

Doesn't matter if it's possible for most of the population imoWe will rid ourselves of the malware at all cost, and that's why we're survivors

I am genuinely sick of it all. For the most part I pay cash for things and when forced I will use a card. Mobile payments can fuck off, install an app fuck off, but the 2fa bollocks creeps for stuff online sometimes. However sometimes in the last few years I have noticed you now need to install an app to use x or y service which can make a life a masive pain in the arse. So I avoid cities or any kind of nonsense like this as best as I can. I work for myself so dont have the employer issue. If its possible want to live in a real cave at this point..ideally with a fire and thats it... it will be less hassle.

It really is appfatigue at this point for me, just on principle firstly, but also all the other faff it entails.Sounds like you have it to a minimum tho which is good. They really took all the fun out of the internet and it's like 90% admin and faff now.

Yeah internet fatigue in general now. It's driven by data harvesting because no one makes money from products or even services now...but it's also really retarded because what happens when your phone breaks or you cant charge it. I broke the screen on my phone recently and needed 2fa to order a new one! In this case I was lucky the phone was bleeding screen fluid slowly so I could just about make out the sms but had I waited even another day I would of been screwed. One of the best pubs round here doesn't even get mobile reception. I think people will start to make places where that is done intentionally.... well I would if i had the money.

Needing sms to buy a phone is classic. Makes me want to break my screen and try buying a new phone, just for fun…
