my favorite part about Linux is that every time Microsoft does something, Linux devs will do the software dev version of trying to spit in an officer in a bodycam video

@professionalbigot69 If you posted shit like this on Microsoft.com, you'd be literally mimicking the joke that Jim made in his Terry video back in the dayhttps://ghostarchive.org/archive/olhrx

sorry that I don't like pasting sensitive information into chat windows while trying to scroll, I guess most hardcore linux users have never had to deal with this problem because they don't have anyone to talk to

@professionalbigot69 @sendpaws AFAIK, that is exactly what they originally wanted: make it optional and make it disabled by default.

@sendpawsI personally don't like middle-click pasting, but I think it should stay for those people who use it, and GNOME is being an authoritarian scumbag here.

@sendpaws @Alex LMAO, what is this?! :drgn_lol_nervous: Some kind of Apple mouse?BTW, after reading replies on the Phoronix forum I found that for ppl, who are using some Wayland-based DEs, the middle-click may seen as really broken bc devs failed to realize it properly, like in X11. Also I've heard about some GUI toolkits which messes with clipboard for Ctrl-C and clipboard for selection — so you never know that you will paste.Thankfully, in GTK 2 and 3, and in Qt 5 or 6 under X11 all copy-paste mechanisms working as intended, like always :drgn_aww:

@sendpaws @Alex It doesn't look like this either. It's a design decision that made sense for unix workstations, but it definitely conflicts with the expectations users have had for decades regarding scrollwheel mice1767889300116.jpg
