       I think, if I'm being honest, we're going to be stuck forever in the "blue-collar desk workers like programmers and SREs unionize, then their branch office gets shut down" model until systemic change happens, so roughly around the collapse of earthly society.So I no longer think the knowledge work trades need a union.We need a guild.

       It is no longer practical to try to do this one studio, lab, office, squad at a time.We need to be a real professional organization, like the other engineering trades.And going through that organization and its rules and collective bargaining needs to be the only way that industry can access our services.
