"New in Two"? [years]"New in Three"?flex, turns out to be "New in Five"how often does your org replace your laptop? how often do you replace your phone (in practice, including accidents)?KPMG, 30 years ago, had a 3 year rule for laptops, the Internet Archive adopted this, but most people voluntarily seem to keep their laptops for 5 years.I have been keeping my phone for 5 years, often cut short by accidents.how about you? Any experiences?

@brewsterkahle I just re-installed an HP laptop from 2018 (17-BS061ST, 17"). Works fine. Re-installing a couple 2/3 year old raspberry pis work fine. Phone is something like 5 years old. Works fine. If it ain't swapping, done fix it.

@brewsterkahle Nothing newer than 5 years for me.Posting from a laptop that is I guess is 15 years old minimum. My normal phone is about 10 years old.I have older stuff that still works. I have newer too, but I am never in a rush to get onto bleeding edge.I have a PC that is now over 4 years old that has never seen power.
