I was involved in archiving at Ohio State U computer science (...!cbosgd!osu-cis!george) as far back as 87 ... and somewhat responsible for the existence of the CompuServe gateway.

@brewsterkahle I just re-installed an HP laptop from 2018 (17-BS061ST, 17"). Works fine. Re-installing a couple 2/3 year old raspberry pis work fine. Phone is something like 5 years old. Works fine. If it ain't swapping, done fix it.

I had not tried shell inside #emacs for a while. File name completion works now. Time for another look.You should always second guess yourself if you have to do something outside emacs.
