@wolf480pl @michcia let's put it this way:- Do you need 10GBase-T or more? Use better cables.- Is the patchcord landing somewhere where it will be irreplaceable without significant effort (placed within walls/difficult to access areas, very long distances, critical infra)? Use better cables.- Otherwise, don't bother, just use 5e. It's stupidly cheap and it'll break in a few years anyways.

@dragoonaethis @michcia yeah, I tried shielded too at some point and it was a pain, and they're stiff as hell, and later I heard that if you don't properly ground the shield it'll make things worse than an unshielded cable...

@wolf480pl @michcia ground it properly or not at all, then you're fine - if you have any device on either end leaking power to the shield then everything goes to hell -_-

@dragoonaethis @michcia The patchcord will at most be cable-managed to my desk, so not exactly hard to get out of.The only part that'd make it hard to replace is that a single patchcord costs less than shipping, and definitely less than the free shippign threshold.

@wolf480pl @michcia your local x-kom/komputronik/etc or the electric supply will have kilometers of these in every store, cheaper than gambling for free shipping
