Dang it all. The dryer at our holiday accommodation appears to have, bizarrely, melted the zip (just a small section, but enough) on my Cactus shorts... and now I'm perpetually flying low. These are my 90% of days-type clothing in summer. Sigh. Luckily, I'll be able to take them in for repairs shortly... assuming I can find something to wear while they're at the shop.

@lightweight I still remember the time that the combo washer-dryer left my PJ's smelling of soy sauce! (or something very similar) 😬 Can't remember what mode I put it in, but I never dared to use that particular mode ever again after that!

@lightweight Whoa! I do commiserate with you (and your family) but for me this is the first reference I’ve seen to Cactus in the fediverse (I started the co as a teenager). Awesome!

@dubh @gwilymgj hah, nice! I once walked into the Fitzgerald St shop to look at a rain jacket, and at one point, the guy helping me stood back and looked me up and down and said - 'mate, are you taking the piss?!' I had a Cactus hat, T-shirt, shorts, and plaid overshirt one. Totally unaware of it. Now that was actually a bit embarrassing.
