       @jwz Somebody told me once it has something to do with bots? But that makes no sense to me. If a bot can do all of the things required to get that far, it can do two steps instead of one on a login form. My guess is one person did it, and everyone else thought there was a reason for it and jumped on it. Because that's how the web works. Badly, while chasing trends to the detriment of all of us.
