@wendynather to be fair, no technical information from trend micro existing to slow down the spleen, either in volume or direction. this is like the crap AI "vulnerability reports" curl project deals with like "curl lets you put a URL on the command line that might point to a malicious site".i'm with the venter here. this shit is a stunning waste of time, bits, and virtual ink that should have gotten the trend micro folks a time out to consider their misbehavior, with no dessert or video games.

@paul_ipv6 @wendynather Well, so if Microsoft does fix the \s{2,} zero-day bug, there's another one in Microsoft Word they should fix. The software allows the user to type a sentence with two spaces after it, where as only one is allowed by correct typographic procedure. This bug wastes zillions of watts of electricity in data centers that could be otherwise used to create LLMs.

@carlmalamud @paul_ipv6 @wendynather I'll have you know, my middle school typing teacher was EXTREMELY STRICT about having two spaces after every period. i think.

@ai6yr @carlmalamud @paul_ipv6 We were taught in fourth grade to double-space on the Selectric, and it took me YEARS to break the habit.

@wendynatherAndroid keyboards double space after a word generates a period then space. So the old thought lives on. @ai6yr @carlmalamud @paul_ipv6
