       Trying to find an "uncensored" version of MIchael Jackson They don't really care about us.And this lead me to listen to a flac audio right after hearing the same file in mp3I had no idea that the difference was this big.This might be why I lost interest in music these last decades.I went from CD to mp3. ANd it sounds like shit. All the music is gone, I feel hardly anything form mp3. There are no vibrations.

       @newman I have heard lots about this but for some reason it wasn't until now I really heard the difference. It was as clear as black and white.Only flac from now on.

       @EvolLove @newman I hear it after spending lots of time listening to music on YouTube. Its highly compressed.Also, any Bluetooth in the audio path will likewise diminish the signal via compression.Storage is cheap, stick to FLACs that you're reasonably assured of the pedigree, and don't render it through anything wireless.Bandcamp offers direct from the artist FLACs, sometimes even in 24 bit. (no affiliation)MP3s and other lossy compression will one day be seen as a form of data cancer.

       @EvolLoveThere are different levels of mp3 encoding. Take your flac, put it in audacity and when you export it as mp3 you can change the quality settings. The highest constant or variable bit rates are hard to tell apart from flac to me. They're night and day to low bit rate mp3s though.
