@Kirk I don't....but, where? when? by whom?"The Right's" refusal to pickup free ammunition is really suspicious. If I've missed it, by all means, let me know, I've just never seen it.@Java @Phil

@dictatordave @Wyliesau Yes, but like deadly poisonous creatures in nature, their phenotype telegraphs their nature so as to be more easily avoided by regular folks.

@cjd > Which humans it (AI) can trust to collaborate, and which ones it cannotThe largest group of easy to wrangle collaborators are leftist stooges, not free, critical thinkers. It's the collectivists that will end up being the physical manifestation of the AI's will, not the independent, sovereign, self sufficient individuals...IMO.It's not so much a mix of psychological factors, it's just a question of who and what mind-types are easiest to control...and I bet that's not you and me!

@cjd I suspect if/when the AI super-intelligence does bootstrap itself, it wont be a T2 Judgement Day type of thing. Everyone is all jiddy about the AI coming at us with H-K units.Like you say, when you have a bajillion IQ, you can manipulate people with positivity by appealing to every single thing we know about behavioral science and psychology. The proverbial carrot, not the stick. Why even reveal itself at all? Far better to nudge events to its liking. Is that what Mandella Effects are?

@sensei That speech, under those lights, with the military standing at attention in the background was the day the Republic died for me.A dusty man of straw, spittle flying in furious anger, claiming everything bad in the nation was the fault of people like ME. I was now the stated enemy of this government and all who supported it.I shed one tear, steeled myself, and moved on, but I'll never forget it. What was lost may be regained, but not now without struggle. These people are monsters.

@djsumdog @xianc78 @mangeurdenuage Tried to make one once, using a recipe that called for isopropyl alcohol and paraffin. Almost Darwin Awarded myself on that one... ๐Ÿ˜… Buy an "official" one soon before some busy body bug-man decides if you drink a couple dozen, you'll have a 1% greater cancer risk in 40 years! You can buy replacement bulbs, but they're getting hard to find, as they have to be at least a certain threshold of incandescent and you know how the bug-men feel about those. ๐Ÿคจ

@FortyTwo It's taken me this many years to admit/realize, I have no ability to see constellations. Sure I can hold up a picture and see where the page says the lines should be, but they always seem random to me, like someone threw a bunch of uncooked, broken spaghetti at the page and said, yep, this is it...these are henceforth, "official."Yes, I see your "big dipper" but that shape is arbitrary and only just a function of mass agreement in collective pattern enforcement.YMMV, I'm weird ๐Ÿ˜…

@Zennagain @PNS To think, they want us to believe these were nothing more than elaborate tombs for ego maniacal dead guys. These were Garden Machines, very purposefully built...and not by dynastic Egyptians...and not by "aliens" either.Seeing just one in operation must have been truly awesome to behold.I'm sure mainstream Egyptologists are creating a plausibly deniable cover story right now.Hail, fair Atlantis!( with my antediluvian baby)https://youtu.be/3or9uOm8DPs

@Dan_Ramos I will never forget the "Red Speech." Never before had national stage politics hit home so personally. The age addled old man, yelling to my fellow citizens, encouraging them in the notion that I, and people like me, were to be blamed and feared as enemies. This was not some late night pundit, but the ostensible leader of the free world, inciting half the nation to blame and hate to other half.Something in us, in culture, was lost that day and I'll never forgive them for taking it

@TikToc @HiroProtagonistI distinctly remember he showed up with an unknown, never-seen-before-or-since *handler."And how Ellen stated, multiple times, on his behalf, how this was the last and only time he would be telling this story. And then <poof>, no one ever heard from him, or the story, ever again. It should be noted that Ellen has/had a high profile series of video slots throughout MGM properties. Something I have to assume was pretty lucrative for her.

@EvolLove @newman I hear it after spending lots of time listening to music on YouTube. Its highly compressed. Also, any Bluetooth in the audio path will likewise diminish the signal via compression.Storage is cheap, stick to FLACs that you're reasonably assured of the pedigree, and don't render it through anything wireless.Bandcamp offers direct from the artist FLACs, sometimes even in 24 bit. (no affiliation)MP3s and other lossy compression will one day be seen as a form of data cancer.

@BroDrillard I've got one. Used it twice, but while an interesting conversation piece, the dogs take on a decidedly "scorched metal" taste that's a little off-putting. If there were a better way to minimize arcing around where the electrodes meet the dogs, I suspect it would taste better. Still, a fascinating piece of history!

@sirchris Once you see how prevalent the corruption is, eventually you have to reel the lens back. Why would the "Fake & Gay" be a modern exclusive? It's not.Once you start peering at history with that skeptical lens, you're right the cornerstone wobbles and if you peer too deeply the inconsistencies are hard to miss. While "modernity" is forever in the flux of its birth, the objective past is indelible. It wouldn't take too much thread pulling to collapse the whole facade.
