@vkc can new Mozilla adopt the Gemini project and then sue Google for clobbering a brand name without a simple Google search for a name collision?

@vkc Speaking as a technologist, these claims are dogshit. They say, "We're putting AI in your browser." I say, FINISH THE PITCH. YOU'RE PUTTING AI IN MY BROWSER SO THAT...GOT NOTHING? SO THAT WHAT‽ SAY SOMETHING TANGIBLE I CAN RELATE TO.This isn't weird granola-munching retro-grouch opposition. These are the questions I was trained to ask as a product manager, and trained to say when speaking to the press. You don't need to be an AI skeptic to recognize shitty leadership choices.

@raganwald @vkc He's leading.tech.slashdot.org/story/25/12/16/1359204/mozillas-new-ceo-bets-firefoxs-future-on-ai> We're not incentivized to push one [AI] model or another…He's opened the bidding for favoring one [someone else's computer] over another, for a yearly funding contribution.(No one has said so. That's how I read what I quoted.)

@vkc Just go back to the Shepard Fairey dinosaur logo and you don't have to pay them anything. We bought that art outright and open sourced it.

@jwz @vkc Fairey says "It didn’t pay a crazy amount of money, but it paid a lot better than stuff in skateboarding", although I can't find any sort of license for the dinosaur logo.

@th @vkc I am 99% certain this happened in 1998 or 1999, but I am no longer the keeper of Mozilla.org's intellectual property. However, it's dangerous to go alone, take this: https://web.archive.org/web/20000822020849/https://www.mozilla.org/banners/
