       Playing around with the new release of Absynth 6, it's notable for being Absynth except (A) the mysterious stuff is no longer concealed in a trippy hippy interface and (B) it now fits amidst a whole lot of synthesizers that do much the same thing.Not to say it's bad - it's just lost the sleight of hand which now passes to U-He's forthcoming and inscrutable Zebra. #musicproduction #synth

       @lardmotel The first “public beta” version of Zebra3 was released yesterday.https://u-he.com/news/#zebra3-newsAs with its predecessors, Zebra3 produces clear, clean sounds. From the little that I have heard so far, Absynth continues to have that murky sort of washed-out sound that many “must have” synth plug-ins have. Turn up that reverb. Yet people rave about it and those other plug-ins, so I suppose it is a matter of taste.

       @phantomcircuit Had a play with z3 and was less impressed than the previous beta, not because it had got worse but I think my expectations became inflated.Much twiddling of graphs and it still needed a lot of added algorithms to make a pleasing texture. Feel like you’d probably skip the graphs when it comes to the chase.
