       I told one of my friends Ash's full name the other day and it was wild to watch her gendered expectations come out. "But, Ashley is a GIRL'S name?!" she squeaked. He is Ashley James LongTail. Ashley J. AJ. Ash. Ashy Slashy (even though he's a sweetheart and has never once clawed me). It wasn't somebody to whom I could explain he was named after "Ashley Joanna Williams" from The Evil Dead because I adore Bruce Campbell, and "James Tiptree Jr", one of Alice Sheldon's pen names, because same.Sometimes I feel very, VERY lonely in this world. If I didn't have all you nerds, I don't know what I would do.#CatsOfMastodon
