I can find a million pages telling me how to get music from my #Linux machine to my #iPhone, but not one on how to get the music from my iPhone onto my Linux machine. Does anyone know how to do this? #iOS #Music

@fox Yes, I want to transfer the music in my iPhone’s iTunes (Music) app to my Linux machine. Or anywhere else, really. I can’t find a way to even copy it to my Mac without spending a lot of money on iMazing or similar. (The yen is really weak now, so apps are expensive for me.)

@RachelThornSub I mean use the iTunes app. If there isn't one for Linux just run a virtual maschine using qemu+virt-manager and forward the iPhone connected via USB to the wi diwsvm and there you can export it all to mp3

@fox No, with iTunes, it just replaces one library with the other, which has led to tragedy in the past. It's not a true synch, where it compares files and adds accordingly. For example, if I have A, B, and C on my iPhone and B, C, and D on my Mac, rather than ending up with A, B, C, and D on both devices, I end up losing either A or D.
