       Digging around, I found an easy solution to completely turning off #MacOS #Tahoe cursed #LiquidGlass user interface. Open up the Terminal app, and paste this in:defaults write -g com.apple.SwiftUI.DisableSolarium -bool YESThis will make your Mac look pretty much the same as it did before you made the lamentable decision to “upgrade” to Tahoe.        Unfortunately, there's no similar trick for completely murdering Liquid Glass on iOS, but there are ways to thrash it within an inch of its poor excuse for a life:Go to Accessibility in iOS Settings.Tap on Display & Text Size.Turn on Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast.You might also want to try turning on Bold Text in this window, but I found it annoying.Now go up to the main Accessibility window in Settings, and tap Motion.        @fox Yes, I want to transfer the music in my iPhone’s iTunes (Music) app to my Linux machine. Or anywhere else, really. I can’t find a way to even copy it to my Mac without spending a lot of money on iMazing or similar. (The yen is really weak now, so apps are expensive for me.)

       @fox No, with iTunes, it just replaces one library with the other, which has led to tragedy in the past. It's not a true synch, where it compares files and adds accordingly. For example, if I have A, B, and C on my iPhone and B, C, and D on my Mac, rather than ending up with A, B, C, and D on both devices, I end up losing either A or D.

       @futurebird Ironically, I bought a 9-year-old Google Pixel phone specifically to be able to use a non-Google (and non-Apple) OS. (I have lost faith in Apple and am trying to dump them all.) My Pixel runs Lineage OS and I have never had to log in to my Google account to use it.But I still have a Gmail account that is the only mail address a lot of people have for me. (Still, I have deleted the Gmail apps and only use the web interface for Gmail.)The struggle continues.
