My project at work today:We had an error-prone process for the year-long transition out of an old app into a new app. Copying queries from a doc into SQLServer Management Studio, running for a selection, zip.Rewrite in …TypeScript -- Fail: Microsoft's node.js driver for SQLServer doesn't work.PHP -- Fail: Microsoft's driver stopped shipping 2 years ago.Python -- Microsoft's driver works -- finished the project.Don't be a one-trick pony. Learn many computer languages and software stacks.

@progo Doesn't sound that bad if your one trick is python :^)Jokes aside, my condolences for having to deal with microsoftware. Only when I started working at a microsoft-centric shop did I realize how bad things really are. MS knows their products just need to barely function and the already-captive customers will have to use them.

ROFL! Just found out why I didn't fail at this in Python:The SQLServer driver for Python is brand new. Don't bet any projects on it. It'll be dead in 4 years.https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/sqlserver/announcing-general-availability-of-the-mssql-python-driver/4470788
