       In case you or your neighbor or family member is considering not vaccinating a kiddo, please take this into consideration:When a child is in my ER at 2 am with fussiness and a fever, and we can’t identify a cause, the next step heavily depends on whether they are vaccinated or not. If they are vaccinated, risk is low. If not, we start talking about doing lumbar punctures, blood cultures, and other invasive tests, because they are at risk of meningitis and other serious infections.

       @mcnado Are you finding that this year's flu shot is protective, or is it too soon to tell? (I know it's always a bit of a guessing game when they're developing it.)

       @tomjennings @APBBlue @mcnado We aren't particularly at risk, but we have continued to mask indoors in unknown situations (i.e. we don't know if people are vaccinated or being responsible) ever since Covid began, plus we continue to avoid risky social groups and people. Have not had a cold or the flu in years now. This will be our MO for the rest of our lives.
