@TheOneDoc @tante Reminds me of how I technically do know JavaScript and I'm somewhat okay with it, but it's ecosystem typically makes it so much *worse* that I would never put JavaScript on my resume (even if it would be double-rate).

What's a programming language/platform you are emotionally biased against? (Think: I avoid running that stuff if I can and not just for rational reasons)Pick the one it applies the most to.

@tante Perl (I find it hard to read). Also java, but not the language, rather the tools - if you tell me i need to run a gradle build; or install the android tools to build; or install eclipse to build - I will just close my laptop and hug my blanket.

@tante I had to pick PHP because JavaScript _earned_ my biases against it.

@robin totally get that. I have softened a bit but with many projects "just use our docker image" comes at the cost of good docs.

@catileptic @tante 🤣> the Perl program ā€œIllegal division by zero at /tmp/quine.pl line 1.ā€, when saved in the appropriate location, outputs ā€œIllegal division by zero at /tmp/quine.pl line 1.ā€

@tante Rust. Not the language itself, but the fact that it basically only has one implementation, no ISO standard etc., but is being sold as the solution to all problems.
