Everyone laughs and laughs at cats getting into boxes, but if you put a chair-height cube in a room with a human they will sit on it. So, who is manipulated by the box now?(The following has been a mandatory dispatch from the offices of #PicaTheCat as a part of her new propaganda initiative.)

@futurebird Indeed: if you present a horizontal surface -- from knee-height to eye-height -- humans will populate it with themselves and/or their belongings within minutes.

@futurebird The cardboard box that a filing cabinet comes in can make a den for several small children - just cut a door and a window.

@futurebird Gracious of her to not point out that in her accurate example, the human entirely wastes the interior volume of the box, making no use of it.

@futurebird Cats liking boxes makes perfect sense. They are tiny ambush predators, so finding places where they can survey their environment without getting ambushed is only logical.

@futurebird ... and if you leave a man in a room with a tea cosy, he'll put it on his head.(According to Billy Connolly).

@futurebird Boxcat says this is no laughable matter - boxes are a delight and even humans can enjoy them, even if they enjoy them wrong; then again, humans take boxes away so clearly they're not okay.

@futurebird city is putting these shrunken market stands for kids in form of little wooden houses all around the christmas markets in the city, and it's scientifically proven impossible for a child to pass by without crawling in

@futurebird put a box in a room with children, and one of them will sit in itMy youngest is constantly asking when I'm going to order something, so they have a box to turn into a racecar, fairy castle or house for their cuddly toy

@futurebird Also, if you presented a cardboard box big enough, most humans* would climb into it as well*me
