@tauon you could easily be as old as 24 and not have ever seen them.I imagine even people who do remember them might have forgotten how exactly they work if they haven't used them in two decades

@foone@digipres.club not only have i watched videos of floppy disks being used, i own a 5½" one and have used 3¼" ones with my granda's windows xp computer (it's awesome, it has a geforce 256 and things like myst on it)

@foone that makes me A) want to bodge together a floppy drive which works like that, and B) see what the newest tech is that you could do that with in a game, before it starts impacting player count. A VHS cassette with the write protect tabs inserted first? A DVD with the label down? An SD card with the contacts sticking out? A thumb drive just haphazardly held up against the USB port, without plugging it in?

oh god when I saw it in the letsplay I didn't realize it was also going into whatever that 5.25" drive is. a slot-loading CD-ROM drive, maybe?

@foone ok it's not that long since the last time I saw a floppy drive but am I wrong to think that the darker gray slot should have been where the floppy should be inserted, right? Every time I slap a floppy there I think of that

@fooneWorked in early 90s in a PC store: A customer coming to us moaning that the floppy drive swallows the (5.25") floppy disks.Opening the case we found that the customer used the gap between the drive bay cover to feed the "floppy drive" 🤣
