Racked my first cherry #melomel tonight! Using 3lbs of cherries (Rainier maybe?) from the tree in our yard. 1lb in primary and 2 in secondary. Using the new 5l (1.3g) fermenter, more headroom than I wanted but it'll do. Added a vanilla bean for extra goodness. Tasting pretty good for 3 weeks, I'm getting excited already. #mead

I made a cherry chocolate sweet mead once, from a recipe online by Jack Keller. He passed away a few years back and his site is no longer active, but someone posted a link to a pdf with some of his recipes here: https://homebrewtalk.com/threads/jack-kellers-wine-recipes-complete-300-page-pdf-file.701909/Lots of good stuff in there. I made 8-10 of them, but it's been a long time since I made any.

it was around 2010 and the few years before that that I was making mead, melomels, and beer. I remember making a few blueberry, a couple things with cherry, a blackberry melomel. Those all turned out nice. Everything I tried with strawberries turned brown. Maybe too much air or I don't know. I cleaned all my equipment the same for everything, but somehow doing something wrong with strawberries.I can't remember which exact recipes I used, but I have a notebook somewhere. I live in Tbilisi now and not sure if I have that notebook or if it's back in the states.
