@grunfink@comam.es I have started a blog and I want to post on my snac instance each time I make a post to have the snac post as a place for people to comment. I can, and have, made such a link from my blog post to the posted snac comment, but snac doesn't have a reply link. I know on mastodon it will have one and then ask you to log in to your instance to post a reply. Any suggestions on how I can include one or do you or anybody have a work-around or other suggestions? Thanks for all your work on snac!#snac #snac2

@grunfink@comam.es am I doing something wrong with webmentions? I've tried this post where I put the link I want to mention (the target) in the field for "Reply to (URL):". I've also tried just directly putting the target link in the body of the comment, for example here: https://chven.us/snac/sam/p/1752837457.562869For both of these, I'm getting a status of "no link found" with summary stating " "summary": "The Microformats at the source URL do not contain a link to the target URL. Check the source URL in a Microformats parser such as php.microformats.io"when I check on the php.microformats.io site, I'm not seeing these links either. It's very possible that I'm not understanding something or overlooking something simple.

I'm not on mastodon, but on a personal snac instance. I'm curious what those will look like to me. @mastodonmigration@mastodon.online have you posted any?Maybe it will need to be added to snac and/or I'll need to update my css. Or maybe I should ask @grunfink@comam.es ?CC: @mattmaison@mastodon.world

when I first used Deltachat, I used it with my personal email address. I thought that was great, because anybody who had my email and delta chat could message me and worst case if I didn't have Deltachat, I'd get the message as an email.Apparently now the chatmail servers are recommended (although any email still works) and I don't know how that works with finding your contacts.CC: @delta@chaos.social

I think I can still use mine. It is my own domain hosted on mxroute. I just haven't used it in a couple years and I remembered a recent post where someone told me the chatmail relays were the way to go. I guess I didn't pick up on the reason why or I just forgot. I do a lot of forgetting these days.CC: @delta@chaos.social @m0xEE@nosh0b10.m0xee.net @maikel@vmst.io

just got a pink vertical line on my Pixel 8. It was dropped and cracked the screen protector a month ago, but I thought otherwise still ok. I guess not :(I hope it continues to work. I don't have a lot of money to fix it right now. Also last night my son got mad and threw the Nintendo Switch controller and broke the red joycon.edit: the pink line comes and goes

yeah? where are you? I'm in Tbilisi. I don't know what the cheapest option would be. This line is annoying enough that I'll want to fix it. If it were a dull grey or black line, maybe I wouldn't care as much.

It's been a while since I tried Haiku. I wish I had a computer for every OS I'd like to use because dual/triple/etc booting doesn't work for me (my main laptop dual boots Void Linux and OpenBSD, but I haven't booted up OpenBSD in a couple years.)Haiku was fun though. I liked the pointers. I also liked how emails were (if I remember correctly) browsable via the file manager. I really need to check it out again, it's been a few years for that. I think my biggest problem was web browsers.CC: @haiku@mastodon.xyz

living in Tbilisi and liking to cook, I hate to find recipes with things like "one can petite diced tomatoes" or "1 8.5 oz. can cream-style corn". Just give me raw ingredients and tell me how to make it from that! Not everybody is living in a place where that "ingredient" is readily available!#cooking #ingredients #recipe #recipes

I made a cherry chocolate sweet mead once, from a recipe online by Jack Keller. He passed away a few years back and his site is no longer active, but someone posted a link to a pdf with some of his recipes here: https://homebrewtalk.com/threads/jack-kellers-wine-recipes-complete-300-page-pdf-file.701909/Lots of good stuff in there. I made 8-10 of them, but it's been a long time since I made any.

is there a wired connection on the Wii or is it just NetBSD minus the Net? 😀 Still interesting though. I'd like to get a modchip for my Switch someday and try linux on it. But probably after I get a Switch 2 or something different to play games on.

it was around 2010 and the few years before that that I was making mead, melomels, and beer. I remember making a few blueberry, a couple things with cherry, a blackberry melomel. Those all turned out nice. Everything I tried with strawberries turned brown. Maybe too much air or I don't know. I cleaned all my equipment the same for everything, but somehow doing something wrong with strawberries.I can't remember which exact recipes I used, but I have a notebook somewhere. I live in Tbilisi now and not sure if I have that notebook or if it's back in the states.

I think @FediTips@social.growyourown.services posted about this a few weeks ago. There was a github issue that they asked to vote on about it. I remember reading it because I was thinking it might be nice if the onboarding asked a few questions like your country/region and some interests and then could recommend a server based on that.

American here. I wasn't sure if it was a joke or real and then I saw another comment saying those are real positions. Before, all I knew of cricket was from Family Guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJWQdZW6iHYCC: @Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt

I've been trying out some new recipes lately. First, a really simple one:aglio e olio aka pasta with garlic and oil. So simple, so delicious. And cheap too, if you don't count the price of the olive oil! Then tonight, I made a cheesy bechamel sauce, basically this recipe: https://www.thespruceeats.com/cheesy-bechamel-sauce-recipe-335001except I made it with a homemade mozzarella (and no nutmeg, but added fresh garlic to the butter on beginning). I used it on some pasta shells (Conchiglie, I think.) So basically a much better than Velveeta Shells & cheese.#recipes #pasta
