Finally went through the Firefox config to disable the AI features.ALL of them were set to *true* except for 'browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled'. I never consented to any use of AI. So much for 'opt-in'. Thanks for nothing, Firefox.#Firefox #FuckAI

@eq @Radgryd I got so sick of new AI features being added every update so that I'd have to go back to about:config to find the new ones that I switched to waterfox which is just Firefox without the AI features as far as I can tell and it's amazing, You can even log into your Mozilla account and have all of your extensions and tabs come over automatically

@Radgryd Check out Waterfox if you want an AI free version of FF with "normal" defaults. Or Librefox if you want an AI free version with all the privacy options turned on by default.

@masukomi @Radgryd I wish they were working for me: Had tried both ca. a year or so ago when I couldn't ignore Mozilla notably switching course any longer, but had too few websites working.Switched to Brave, despite my stomach grumbling, and have to say my _user_ experience is 8/10.

@proscience @masukomi @Radgryd I don't trust brave the company behind brave the browser further than i can throw them, so i *do* use brave on my cellphone and PC as "semi-private" where they have no login details for any site, etc. I installed ... midori or something on a VM and it was responsive, but i didn't test any itch.io or whatever.I miss being able to shove a squid box in front of my network and cache/filter everything at the edge. Now i have to run unbound, pihole, blah blah blah.

@picofarad @proscience @Radgryd it’s not a matter of trusting the company. Is like buying Harry Potter book. They may be nostalgic and harmed by themself, but doing so supports a bigot who is literally funding a genocide (yes really. Look up the definition)
