@Hyperhidrosis@shitposter.world it's been 10 months and I can't find a job in tech. It used to be super easy. That is why I got into the field, because I was a computer nerd and wanted job security. I'm prolly going to be working at this guys tire shop in the coming weeks. I fell like the country is on the verge of collapse.

I was out for a few months and had to settle on a .NET job with a pretty sharp paycut .. still pays a good amount, but I've been using Linux for work since 2012 and Win 11 has gotten so fucking shitty that it's insanely painful. At least it's an interesting field.Managing a tire shop honestly seems like an upgrade from the state of the current software world.

I don't think most of these companies are even hiring any H1B replacements. It's this entire management layer who doesn't understand the Magic Weighted Random Code Generators really aren't good at producing code, especially anything remotely novel. They keep cutting and are going to get hit with some pretty steep technical debt slop within a few years.

@djsumdog@djsumdog.com I think they are betting that AI will be good enough then to solve the tech debt. It better pay off because they been taking away entry level jobs so they arent training the next generation and there won't be enough of them there to do it if AI can't.
