@Ivikiwi2 oh absolutely. my elder millenial ass extremely can't deny there's something to the escapism of a creature that at least feels somewhat independent and capable of setting its boundaries but is blissfully ignorant at the horrorshow behind how the greater world works, or even its existence.but even that is a bit too much to handle nowadays. i definitely get the trend toward especially queer people seriously considering themselves outright objects, or something in between--a puppy is still a living creature, but one that does not even have to make as complex of decisions as a cat or kitten does or even care about the worry of asserting boundaries.as a veteran of many internet wars over my right to assert my boundaries and being punished repeatedly for doing so practically since birth in the real world, im not so keen to give that up, but i am completely sympathetic to the desire to not have to go through all that shit in the first place and just be a happy puppy with a loving owner that doesnt have to worry about it

@Ivikiwi2 i have criticism of the upswing of it/its prononouns and puppygirlhood along these lines but ive decided is best kept to myself because im not sure i could voice them in a way that comes off as fully blaming the material conditions that led to the increase of such desires and not people--largely abused or otherwise more acutely harmed by said material conditions than average--who have these desires instilled in them by said material conditions and the very specific people in charge of the hegemonic order that enrich themselves on enabling it all the way down to your local dollthing, and not, well, your local puppygirls and/or dollthings.but i suppose one way to make what im saying clear is i very much consider becoming a puppygirl, dollthing, or similar, a rational response to the historical material conditions we live in and am skeptical of any claims of harms these identities cause for existing, never mind that even if these claims were true, said harms are orders of magnitude of orders of magnitude less harmful than what billionaires are doing to all of us.
