Dunno what happened with Flatpak, but (in my likely wrong perspective), it feels like the only major reason people advocate for it is because they're Debian users. apt is so behind with updates, it's unreal, with things like Blender being stuck in 3.X, while you always have the latest versions of the Flatpak versions. However, dnf also keeps up with updates well in my experience, and Arch users who have the highly extensive AUR have a point in dismissing Flatpaks entirely.:drgn_think:

@radmin > apt is so behind with updates, it's unrealDebian has backports for this reason. If newer software is needed, it should be available there. Although given how recent the Trixie release is, most of the software I've come across is still fairly new-ish - blender for instance isn't that outdated lolI think flatpaks have their uses (immutable distros, software not packaged in <insert distro here>). But I never really tend to use them, let alone install software from backports. The old stuff just works and gets patched to work better™️
