@Killer_Mule I'm sure the penny has always cost more than a penny to make, that's kinda the point. There aren't single use items, they're minted once and get used over and over for _years_.They're perceived to be worthless to buy anything with though, due to inflation, so people will go along with this elimination.I'll start collected them 🤠

@nom @Killer_Mule Well you're exactly correct in that the money is worthless so no one cares about the penny. So not only are they costing more to make than they are worth but no one is actually transacting with them anymore.I have a stash off wheat-stalks and several jugs of pennies I now need to sort out the pre '82 ones.We used to still see buffalo head nickles in circulation when I was a kid.
