I figure some Utah-based mormon families might have made it to 8 as they start pretty young+are prolific in kidmaking over multiple generations, increasing odds of both successful outcome and large families likely.In fact if you look at Utah it is the only state with good percentages in the young-age demographic. There just aren't enough of them to make a difference upward in the population overall.

Hmm... imho if I were attending a peaceful politcal demonstration I would not carry a handgun. That's the kind of thing a sane person leaves at home.If he wasn't carrying a handgun and ICE shot him dead I think the protesters would then have reason to file suit, etc. That he was carrying puts the potential for cause of error on the dead guy. Seems like a case of death due to poor judgment on Pretti's part, no?

A normal person carrying would back off and be thinking "duhhh, I wish I hadn't brought this stupid thing with me. Otherwise I could try to help that old woman!"Bad decision. ICE agent action was correct I think in this case based on what he knew.I'm not a big fan of ICE agents just seems like the guy was asking for trouble.

Am trying to think through this...Pretti goes to a demonstration with a handgun. Whether open carry or not he's trying to help someone on the ground...if you were wearing a handgun at a demonstration wouldn't you want to stand back and let someone else help a person having trouble? I mean, you're really taking a lot of responsibility in and "a and b" situation where (a) you're wearing a pistol and (b) you're actively mingling with the crowd, knowing you're carrying + could err at any time. Again, seems like his fault. Feel bad for his family coz they raised him.But this was a bad decision+situation he created and seems he paid for it with his life.

What I was alluding to was his stupidity + welcoming of exponential increase of margin for error.Also his inability to judge a situation [and people who are like him] do help move certain types of legislation we'd rather not see up to the frontburner, but that's really a different convo I think.

@CSB@poa.st Yeah. Geology+Geophysics (hydro+oil) are my best guess.Why? There's a shortage of qualified folks + you can oscillate between field work and in-office work. Freedom of choice not unlike s/w engineers used to have.My best guess only.Second best guess is to study biology for a BS or BA then xfer to medical to treat octoeeeeegenerals (octogenarains I can't spel this werd)

Yeah I get your concern w/ my 'best guess.'The US has wayyyy more natural resources than we let on [partly coz proper local geologic surveys are disallowed]. Partly coz we seem to want to use up the rest of the world's resources first before we sack our own!
