       In the spirit of whatever the fuck you want to call what the senate democrats in the US just did, I would like to point USians to a very pertinent slogan that has been in use in Germany for over a century now:Wer hat uns verraten? Sozialdemokraten!Who betrayed us? The green party!Equivalents for these two parties seem to exist in many places and most of them have a common feature: When in doubt, they'll always place the neoliberal capitalist world order over their self-professed values of social progressivism and environmentalism.

       Do I have a fix for this? Besides "we need political parties with actual values" – no. But I think it's nice to know that we share some of our pains.

       I think the best we can hope for our USian friends to happen is that by the time this disaster of a government is finally done, the US party system will have splintered into something with more than two parties.
