@kde @seq @lexinova @honze_net filter (Ctrl+I I think) in dolphin works way faster if you need filename results from current dir onlyOtherwise FD (fdfind) and rg (ripgrep) are way to go if you're not afraid of console

@hj @honze_net Thanks for the tips, they are appreciated. I'm not afraid of console, but a good search tool with proper GUI will beat CLI in effectiveness and versatility any day of the week. So I'm still hoping to find something that comes close to Everything on Windows. I also need it to be able to search folders on my NAS.

@seq @honze_net I actually wonder about Everything, I used it before, and always assumed it's some sort of NTFS thing + maybe caching

@hj @honze_net It primarily uses NTFS indexes yes, but it has support for creating databases for other file systems and network shares as well. https://www.voidtools.com/faq/After my switch to Linux that piece of software and Directory Opus are the programs I miss the most, daily.
