Imagine being a millionaire and just... using X, threads, tiktok or facebook and still having to struggle to click the little box to make the ads close. Wouldn't a luxury lifestyle be free of advertisements?

@futurebird my guess is the overwhelming majority of Americans in the net worth range 1-3m are retirees w/ home equity-- so, no, being a millionaire is not a luxury lifestyle, it's just getting by in your expensive older yearsit certainly does not allow you to get away from the struggle to close ads, indeed, since you're likely older, the struggle is harder since finding the little places to click is more physically difficult

@futurebird Maybe the luxury lifestyle needs advertisements the most — to know what to buy, what is desirable, how your wealth is salient in the culture.
