I thinking about one thing that #fediverse self-hosting landscape lacks. Well it is not only about Fediverse per se.I dream to have something like a personal "trailer", or technically speaking, a server, on the internet, where I can add various capabilities if need them. For example:📜 microblogging like Mastodon.📖 Long-reads blogging like Medium🖼️ Photos and albums📷 Video uploadat least one of these:📬 deltachat relay📪 Briar "mailbox".💬 Simplex relaySome more explanations follow.🧵

@koteisaev Sounds like the use case @yunohost covers, no?(Kitten is for a far more specific use case but, if you wanted to, you could build a front end for something like what you describe with it.)

And one of key things I want about that is ability to configure it all either via desktop app or via admin UI.I also think about keep using the domain I have. But if it will be https-for-static-ip-address, it is ok.Some can say that it is resemble mix of hubzilla and Small Web & Kitten by @aral I wonder how it would possible to combine Kitten https://kitten.small-web.org and #activityPub which means site does a lot of stuff behind the scenes like sending & receiving plenty of requests.

And i thought about some UI - either desktop app or admin UI to be used to edit content there, view comments/reactions and respond...But the thing I have in my head seems to becoming something grandiose. And all that, to some extent, to avoid to self-host Mastodon, Ghost, Pixelfed, PeerTube at various subdomains across "fleet of virtual machines", otherwise it would be not a Place in context of Kitten but more like "corporate Kubernetes cluster use case".

Thank you very much @aral (and our best regards, by the way !)@koteisaev :Elena's (@elena, coucou !) use case seems to match what you describe. She talks about it in this recording (with English subtitles): https://videos.globenet.org/w/wTYGCjA4UuziSR4AAKPk5P?start=28m53sHappy selfhosting!

@aral @yunohost Thanks you both for replies.I just may be got confused, because each of these fediverse apps designed not as a "plugins" for some foundation like Kitten, such e. g. long-reads/blog authoring for it, or photo gallery feature for Kitten, which would share identity. So I want be kote@example.tld in all of these "plugins" and across Fediverse. These isolated apps at best would live at blog.example.tld, photos.example.tld, news.example.tld and im.example.tld domains set.🧵

@koteisaev @yunohost Yeah, I hear you: my plan for the self-hosted social network is to have these sort of plugins (or “features” as I call them) for a core system so it’s very lightweight. But it won’t be ActivityPub (which isn’t lightweight and involved duplication of content) but peer-to-peer. But all the stuff that Yunohost helps you self host exists today whereas what I’m working on doesn’t. (Kitten is just the generic peer-to-peer web server/framework for creating peer-to-peer web apps.)

@aral @yunohost I think it would be interesting to connect your features to each other, by adding Kitten to software that would be installed on/with YunoHost, but of course it would need first to create Kitten-based software ("plugins?") with all these functionalities I would like to have together, aimed at single-person usage.
