       @505fred neither of those things are end-to-end encrypted by default.Perhaps your family would be open to using Signal instead of WhatsApp (you can tell them -- truthfully -- that WhatsApp uses the Signal protocol internally. "Allegedly", because it's not open-source like Signal).
