Having a good look at Omnisphere 3 ... new features & sounds but they seem tied to commercial music production, y'know rapidly twerking up cues while the client snorts coke on the couch. 'Make a bigger woosh'. That's work. And 'EDM' - that shit version of electronic music. It does have basic controls - filters, waveforms etc. But mostly a bunch of pre-set 'subroutines'. I should review it - but would probably never use it 😞 See what you think.https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/omnisphere/overview.php #musicproduction

@lardmotel it's definitely priced at that sort of user isn't it. I toyed with the idea for a while because I like the idea of it integrating with all my hardware, but the trouble is it doesn't integrate with _all_ my hardware (I mean the MIDI-capable stuff obvs) and IIRC was missing a few key things like Blofeld support so I was like eh if I'm paying that much I want it to not feel half arsed.

@lardmotel My recollection of previous version is that’s it’s just a giant rompler, right?

@blurk That would be unfair ... there's a good slab of basic oscillators, filters etc. But yes, many 'useful' sound samples. My bitching here is about 'meta' controls (make this 'warmer') and randomiser that's all very abstract and not personal. Clients always want to give you instructions for their wooshes. And this is perfect for client driven decisions. But having seen other places (MusicRadar) do their 5/5 for every bloody thing I might do a deep dive on it ...#synth #music production

@dj2mn They have expanded the range of controllers - you can use the Juno now.
