Hmmm the fediverse should have the equivalent of Echo Conferences. Defined-Subject threads you "subscribe" to ( like lists) that meander through instances, post by post.

@tomjennings doesn't it ? You can follow #hashtags and you can make lists ?Or maybe I don't understand what you mean - not entirely impossible as I haven't had my first morning coffee yet 😉

@FrankauLux Conferences has more of a "hard" border (a post is in Conf X, or it is not) but it could be done with something like a tag, yes. The trick then was determining if a post needed forwarding on, or not.

@tomjennings I think I see (not enough coffee). There are also external services with something like a distribution list where you get automatically all the post sent to the list, that might also do it. I'm in some of them, but I'll need to dig to find what they're called.

@tomjennings How would these compare to the (late) "Twitter chats" concept, applied to the #Fediverse? For historical purposes:https://sproutsocial.com/insights/twitter-chats/

@tomjennings would this be akin to what you're thinking?https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse/
