       Nothing is forever. Not precious crown jewels, not museums, not historical treasures, not countries. Not even planets. It's pretty awful to face up to the end of rather permanent things in one's lifetime.

But I'm not so sure. I tend to agree with Eckhart Tolle that it's more about our fear of being unable to cope with future change.@jstatepost
