@aral I don't understand... why does our "political class" in the EU continues to accept the misdeeds of the Israeli regime. What happened to the flotilla is a valid reason for war. (not that I say we should start a war with Israel)

@aral I read this yesterday and felt sick. I then spoke with some people about it and was disgusted to find they had zero sympathy and called her an idiot for going there. "Why would she get involved in something she has no stake in?" They said. "Why would a human care about human rights?" I answered.They said she did it for fame!What are these people watching and reading that they had ZERO CLUE that a flotilla even existed but are able to state "she does it for fame" and turn a blind eye?

@aralIf this is true, it’s deeply horrifying and inhumane. No one—especially a young activist—should ever face such treatment for standing up for justice and peace. Acts like this only deepen the pain and reveal how far humanity has fallen. We stand with every voice silenced by oppression.

@aral @pluralistic This second flotilla shows the wrongness of Greta’s critics over the years. She knows her notoriety will bring attention, but it also makes her a target for abuse or worse by the Israelis. @aral The USA has seen a growing demographic that is angered that a foreign country humiliates their nation. And that force is growing in political power, to the extent that even Trump is starting to accomodation them.Question is - will such a force arise I Europe? Angered that their apparently "great history" countries are subservient to, and regularly humiliated by, a manufactured entity called Israel.And will that force emerge from progressives, or will it be left to the right again?

@aral I do not find this surprising, with what I read from the current Israël government. Checks with their civilization level. (Though I understand she was not burned, poisened nor any bones broken. There's even more imaginable)What ís relevant and news to me: when released, #Gretha did not want to talk about her treatment to journalists, but about why she went in the flotilla: #gazagenocide That is what she wants to be discussed. @bbbhltz It’s the same people who say we shouldn’t help refugees because we have to take care “of our own” and don’t lift a finger to help “their own” either.They are not good people but they want to think of themselves as good people and hate people like Greta for reminding them that they’re not.
