I think this kind of ... concern can almost always be traced to some older person saying "will you put that game/book/phone down and come help with the ..." and the young person responds with a little sass and fire.And the older person is horrified that this once pliable and obedient person is suddenly just doing what they want, and something they don't even really understand. This Is A Crisis.
