       Reading "The Geometry of Musical Rhythm," and in the first few pages I've learned that one of my go-to palm-muting patterns back in my teens and twenties is called the tresillo pattern and dates back to at *least* 13th century Baghdad.It goes "ONE-two-three-FOUR-five-six-SEVEN-eight," annotated as a list of inter-onset intervals as [3-3-2].
