Just realized yesterday's blog post was my 2,000th post since 2003!That's primarily a few years on Blogspot before moving to WordPress, and imports from a few side projects and experiments with other platforms over the years, like Vox and Posterous.I don't think it includes Google+, but I can't remember if they offered an export option before killing it?It also doesn't include LiveJournal (which somehow still lives on!), nor my time on Compuserve or Geocities, which is lost forever.

I was a very active blogger in the early days, mostly personal in the beginning before comics and publishing and media became my primary focus at different times.Twitter eventually took over as my primary platform, and while I mostly enjoyed the first 10 years, it definitely killed my blog for several years.Ironically, "newsletters" helped revive it as I (thankfully) "archived" every issue there before finally making it my primary platform again, as it always should have been.

Nowadays, my blog is my hub once again, with Mastodon and LinkedIn as my main satellites.I reluctantly check in on Bluesky now and then because comics and libraries have settled there, but I don't love it.I still push all of my blog posts to Tumblr, too, but almost no one I used to follow there is still active, and I mostly use it to see cool 40k art.The internet doesn't have to be a dumpster fire, but it requires more intentional use nowadays to make it work for you.#SocialReboot
