I’m watching a 1960 Westinghouse advertising short called The Total Electric Home (via Rifftrax) and it’s striking how most of its futuristic innovations are pretty common today, but in different forms. https://www.d-archive.org/4k-60fps1959-the-total-electric-home-the-home-of-the-future/

@overholt The styling here looks like an imitation of Frank Lloyd Wright's 1950 Zimmerman house, which was designed to be long but with round spaces for early music consort playing. It's like they saw that and went, ah yes, 16th-century instruments *are* the future!
