       @futurebird Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice - it's a nice flavour combination.  Goes well in coffee, cakes, pies (pumpkin but also apple and others). I imagine it goes well in breakfast cereal.The thing I find odd is how the whole thing gets associated with pumpkins, so much that it would make sense to assume the coffee (etc. etc.) has pumpkin in it.I like spiced coffee, but I do not think I would like spiced and pumpkined coffee.

       @futurebird see, “pumpkin spice” implies—to my brain, at least—that there’s pumpkin in there. like “chocolate hazelnut.” it would be marginally better to say “pumpkin-pie spice” to distinguish that it’s the spice blend that is commonly used in pumpkin pie. but why couldn’t they have used something like “autumn spice” or “baking spice” or “sweet spice”? why did they have to drag pumpkin into it? don’t get me wrong—i love pumpkin pie. i just don’t want it in my coffee.
