       @MandyJane I don't understand companies keep doing this. I understand why it would be tried once; an advertiser notices that trans is all over social media and tries to cash in, but it's already proven to be a really poor strategy that leads to boycotts.

       @MandyJane Exactly! I know advertising people are mostly thought to be coke fuelled idiots, but surely even a coke fuelled idiot could see that copying Bud Light's strategy would lead to the same disastrous results.

       @EatKnitSleepAgain @MandyJane The only thing I can think of is echo chamber and this is a belief system and must be evangelized. I followed the recent American Eagle/Sydney Sweeney thing with interest, and I understand what they were trying to accomplish there in terms of clicks and making money, but I can't help but think that men and women want to see WOMEN. Not these fucking ugly masquerading men.

I mean marketing sickness goes back to rhe very first posters ever painted. We can't assume the men deciding on these idiotic marketing strategies are in any way intelligent or savvy about current stuff. They just wormed their way into a job bc we give men jobs they don't deserve and are able to convince other office workers they know what's up.
