       Gah, the newest version of Libre Office requires something called Oracle's Development Kit.Except the instructions are very technical and not helpful for a nontechy person like me...So no access to Libre Office for me until hubby is not working...

       @craftygardennz Ugh!  I will never understand why anyone would still keep dependencies on anything built / supplied by Oracle in this day and age! 🤮Then again, I do realise that OpenOffice -> LibreOffice did used to have a non-trivial amount of Java stuff, possibly even some of their core plugins if not a bulk of the core app even. But ugh... not fun.

       @craftygardennz @aligorith yup, it's a shame that such a huge proportion of the world's 'digital dollar' goes straight into MSFT coffers. Remember that something like LibreOffice has a budget of, perhaps, 1/1000th of what Microsoft Office has. Probably less.

       Okay, after a whole lot of winging it and guesses and good luck, I got the kit, and installed it and got it working.I fear that any general user trying to do this would just give up, I had to have 5 webpages open to get all the instructions to do it, and I had to guess which kit type to download it.

       Great and now our home server email isn't working so no email for me today. I did ask hubby about it earlier, and he claimed to fix it, but I still don't have email access...
