@Roscoe Valid concerns - they may have applied for the money. Beautiful teeth? Pics or it didn't happen.

@Roscoe This explains how someone like @su could end up with English blood coursing through German veins.

@Roscoe @JimmyMarr wasn’t a snakey summer, I only got to pick up one. A bear was across the street (I thought it was a black dog at first) and the yard’s been full of deer. A big one just yesterday, a few feet away, just munching away on some grass, completely carefree. Okay then, don’t mind me! My cat walked right up to it

@su @JimmyMarr That's nice - the only wildlife we have up here are rats and toothless derelicts.I saw you on tv with that old guy - Jim wants to make bone broth out of him.

@su I watched it yet again and I think I figured out why I like it so much. When I was in middle school I had an adjoining paper route (Washington Post) with a friend. Sometimes we would push his family's International Cub Cadet out of the barn and away from the house before starting it and use it and we would deliver both routes before sunrise. It was great fun for a while, but his dad eventually figured it out and spoiled the whole gig.

@su I'm guessing one or more customers must have complained about the early morning noise, but I can't really remember. He and I hung out a lot together in the pre-dawn hours, mostly on our paper delivery bikes. He was always claiming to see shooting stars. I must have always been looking elsewhere because I never, or barely ever saw one.I spoke with his sister at a high school re-union and learned that that he was a PhD Meteorologist working at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Haunting to remember. Did I really live out that chapter of my life or was it a dream. I'm sure many of us have that same feeling about our relationship with Alex, remote as it was.

@JimmyMarr makes me think that the passage of time is in our heads. Most of the time it’s like a rubber band pulled taught but sometimes it relaxes and things get nearer. It does feel like catching smoke or dreaming that you’re trying to run though mud, not going anywhere. Sounds like paperboy kid didn’t stray from his path too far

@Marko @su And at other times its as quaint as a plaster cat staring blindly at us through through our workplace window.
