"Hoorah! We don't need those pesky software developers anymore". Really?Pause to consider how you'll fare in competition against people who actually know what they're doing.

You might also pause to consider that *when* you need a developer's help, they might not be so keen on cleaning up your vibe-coded mess as a career move. And, since employers haven't been hiring and training new developers for 3 years, that skillset could be about to get much more expensive.

@jasongorman I think we can all see where this is heading.Real programmers with skill will become a thing of the past. While AI will make bigger and bigger codes, constantly fixing erors with new codes until it is impossible for any human to fix it.Then all the real developers have died from old age and no one will even know how to code anymore. We will be like the pavement monkeys. Using a technique that we ourselves are no longer able to understand or reproduce.

@EvolLove @jasongorman A LLM cannot learn anything - all it can do is copy code (although in a lossy and combining manner). Most code that exists is bad and as a result - all you get out is bad code.As more and more slop code is copied, eventually that slop will find its way back into the LLM training and the model will output even worse slop.If you want to copy code - copy it directly, while following its license.
