       My old manager and supervisors worked really hard to beat the cynicism out of me and this was the ultimate test on whether or not I'd give up on my sincerity and ideals and give into despair, regressing back into that cynicism. I'm very happy to say that I've only become more resolute in my faith and idealism as a result of all this.

       If I didn't lose my last job, I wouldn't be as available to help a bunch of different friends with their struggles. I never would have gone to that craft fair with my mom, seen incense sticks in the one shop, and found a use for all my test tubes. I would have continued taking so much for granted. I never would have spent time dissecting so many new ideas. I never would have reflected on people I know, getting a better understanding of them and the human condition in general. I feel like I'm much more equipped to actually help people now and I feel like I've really changed a lot since March.

       @WoodshopHandman I don't even know if you'd like it, but it's one drop in a puddle of interactions I've had recently, alongside your conversations, that really hit me. Lots of seemingly unrelated concepts which wrap around to a greater whole. Anyway, it's a game for me, not for you. The protagonist, Yi, is extremely relatable to me,​ but you'd probably find him dumb.

       @veff I don't think there's anything bizarre at all about it. You think it's a coincidence but that sort of serendipity is just forces greater than you or I conspiring to tell you something. For me, it's how the conversations with you are the opposite side of the same coin as the conversations I have with my redhead hag foid friend. These conversations with you teach me things I use to help her and vice-versa. I wouldn't be surprised if she says something about "weird coincidences" the next time I see her. That tells me I'm on the right track and to keep digging.

       @porkcow @WoodshopHandman Your loss. It's not a full-fledged metroidvania because the game is quite short and there's virtually zero backtracking. If Hollow Knight is like Super Metroid, Nine Sols is like Metroid Fusion. One is vast and open ended; the other is mostly linear and narrative driven.
