I think sleepy is more like an emotion like sadness, and is completely unrelated to tiredness which is a state of being. I can be tired and miserable but if I'm not sleepy then I can't sleep. Or on the opposite end, I can be very well rested and sharp, but if I feel sleepy and lie down in that window of sleepiness then I'll still take a nap no matter how much I've already slept.

@WoodshopHandman I don't even know if you'd like it, but it's one drop in a puddle of interactions I've had recently, alongside your conversations, that really hit me. Lots of seemingly unrelated concepts which wrap around to a greater whole. Anyway, it's a game for me, not for you. The protagonist, Yi, is extremely relatable to me, but you'd probably find him dumb.

@porkcow @WoodshopHandman Your loss. It's not a full-fledged metroidvania because the game is quite short and there's virtually zero backtracking. If Hollow Knight is like Super Metroid, Nine Sols is like Metroid Fusion. One is vast and open ended; the other is mostly linear and narrative driven.

I can't overemphasize how bad text based AI still is. I try to have it run through rhymes or metaphors to speed up my poetry writing and it's less competent than a Google search. I attempt to have it analyze song/lyric structures and it spits out factually incorrect statements, like miscounting syllables or saying it follows AABBC rhyming scheme when it's obviously ABABC.It really reminds me of the craze when boomers were buying Amazon echos because they thought a "smart home" would be cool and futuristic, only to never use the buggy mess and have it sit (still plugged in) on the kitchen countertop.

It's weird because I found it very impressive 4-5 years ago when I was messing around with AIDungeon. Sure the memory was poor, but it delivered a much more responsive, engaging, and humorous output than these modern programs.

I've said this before, but I really wish I knew how to build a new town. I wish there was a streamlined approach to becoming mayor or governor without sucking cock because I think its not just possible, but easy to make something beautiful with the tools we have available to us.
